A LAND OF EVOCATIVE EXTREMES
OUR REMOTE ISLAND AT THE SOUTHERN TIP OF AUSTRALIA
THE PERFECT WHISKY-MAKING SUPER CLIMATE
Tasmania, the last stop before Antarctica, has its own unique climate and landscape. Boasting a distinctive climate and terrain characterised by chilly winters with snow and lengthy, temperate summer days spanning up to 15 hours of daylight, a departure from Australia’s more tropical weather.
This ideal climate, neither excessively hot nor cold, enhances the interaction between wood and spirit, accelerating maturation and yielding a higher angel’s share. This phenomenon culminates in something remarkable: the magic of Tasmania distilled.
LARK seamlessly incorporates the island’s natural landscapes and biodiversity, utilising local barley, freshwater sources, and its own Central Highlands peat marsh.
OUR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
THE CLEANEST AIR IN THE WORLD
TASMANIA IS A SUPER CLIMATE FOR SINGLE MALT PRODUCTION
LARK fully integrates the natural landscaps and biodiversity of the island, from local barley to fresh water sources and our very own central highlands peat marsh. Our locally grown barley flourishes in the well-drained Tasmanian soils.
Our long hot summer days, short cold winter days, plentiful sunshine, and generally low humidity makes Tasmania the perfect place for distilling single malt whisky.
Tasmania is also home to some of the most pristine H20 anywhere on Earth. As soft as rainwater, its a luxury ingredient ideal for making whisky that we do not take for granted.
